Named in homage to the Greek god of metalworking, Hephaestos is a cosy unisex shawl worked in the brioche technique. The strong lines of the shawl’s structure are evocative of metalwork.

The straightforward knit is finished with a herringbone edging, with carefully-placed stitches effortlessly forming those characteristic zigzags. The edging adds some oomph, but it’s also very beginner-friendly. After working the body in brioche, you will be more than prepared for the challenge of the edging.
