Her Immortal Scroll Cowl
I had so much fun designing my first cowl that I had to design another. This design is inspired by the cover of Traditional Fair Isle Knitting by Sheila McGregor. It has a central motif floating over an all-over pattern. I have used a different motif and pattern and I think I’ve achieved the floating effect. I used a yarn with long color repeats but I think the effect will still work with a solid color or a yarn with shorter color repeats. I don’t recommend a variegated yarn.
This pattern includes two versions of the chart. One with white as the main color and black as the background and one inversed (black as main color, white as background) so that you may choose the one that works for you.
Yarn Requirements: (Sample knit using Knit one, Crochet Too Ty-Dy Socks and Cascade Yarns Heritage Solids )
Any sock (fingering) weight yarn.
Background color (BC): 170 yards
Main Color (MC): 185 yards
Measurements after blocking: 12 inches tall, 21 inch circumference.
Skill Level:
Adventurous beginner / intermediate
