Herbarium Sweater
The Herbarium sweater is a relaxed, drop-shoulder garment which is worked in an easy leaf pattern that gives it a beautiful texture.
The sweater is worked bottom up in the round, up to the underarms where a gusset is created on each side. While the gusset stitches are left to rest, the upper front and the back are completed and then joined at the shoulder, before picking up for the neckband.
Next, the sleeves are created by picking up stitches along the armholes and working the gusset stitches, which are then decreased out. The sleeves are worked downwards in garter stitch to whatever length is preferred, then a cuff is worked and a decorative extra flourish using surface slip stitch in contrasting yarns finishes off the hem and cuffs.
The pattern is charted. There are separate charts for each size once the shaping starts.
This pattern has been tech edited and test knitted.
