Herdwick Knit-and-Felt Shopping Tote
This large bag is knitted loosely in the round, then felted in the washing machine. During the felting/fulling process the bag will shrink and become much sturdier. We recommend that you select a yarn that felts thickly so that this large shopping bag can be used to carry heavier loads! Advice can be sought from sales@sheepfold.co.uk. The exact size of the finished bag will depend on the wool and felting temperatures used.
It is ESSENTIAL that you use a yarn that is not a machine-washable or superwash variety. Ideally the yarn should be 100% pure wool.
Five x 100g skeins is usually sufficient, unless a particularly weighty yarn is used. As with all our knit-and-felt designs, we strongly recommend that you test the felting of your yarn before knitting this bag.
Please note that the pattern does not include instructions for the heart-shaped motif. There are many patterns for different brooches and motifs available on Ravelry!
