Meet Hero the Hedgehog. Hero loves to go bumbling along looking for slugs and snails to gobble up (but not puppy dog tails, those taste a bit too furry!). His prickly exterior is not a match for his warm friendly personality, he loves nothing more than to make a new best friend!

To create Hero as a granny square pixel blanket you will need:
• 4.5mm crochet hook
• 25g black
• 50g cream
• 125g dark brown
• 150g light brown
• 200g brown (main body colour)
• 400g background (I decided to go with some autumnal colours!)
