Herringbone Socks
This pattern works herringbone stitch in the round and involves using two different needle sizes to give the fabric more stretch while retaining a snug heel and sole. Foot length can be adjusted by adding or removing rows in the foot section.
Measurements for the two sizes are as follows:
Small/medium: 7.5” circumference, 8.5” foot length once blocked.
Medium/large: 8.5” circumference, 9.5” foot length once blocked.
Materials needed:
1 skein Champagne Cocktail by The Whimsical Ewe, 100g/436yds
US size 1 double pointed needles
US size 3 double pointed needles
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
Gauge for the stockinette sole is 34 sts and 44 rows = 4” on size 1 needles.
Gauge for the herringbone pattern is 52 sts and 40 rows = 4” on size 3 needles.
