Herringbone Twill Hat
The Herringbone Twill Hat was designed to coordinate with another one of my patterns, the Herringbone Twill Cowl. Both accessories use a simple knit/purl texture to create an alternating herringbone pattern. Easy enough for an adventurous beginner, it will also hold the attention of more experienced knitters. I have included some of my favorite knitting (and pattern designing) tips, as well as charted and written instructions for both pieces. The stitch pattern in this design is a modified herringbone pattern, which is highlighted beautifully by Berroco Ultra Alpaca Natural. Berroco offers 7 undeyed shades of Ultra Alpaca Natural, or you can choose from the 72 colors of Ultra Alpaca. The hat and cowl pictured are made from one skein each, but if you plan to make both pieces, you could use the leftover yarn from the hat to make a larger cowl.
