This sweet cowl is an addicting colorwork project featuring large open hearts surrounded by single knit stitches in colorwork- designed to look like mini hearts!

The name is pronounced similar to “Hert-zee-line”….it is a term of endearment my German grandmother uses, roughly translated from her dialect it means sweetheart. Since my Oma taught me how to knit, using this name seemed a perfect fit for the cowl.

Herzilein is the PERFECT way to use up scrap yarn or mini-skeins. Sun Valley Fiber’s mini skeins fit great to use for the rows of hearts, one per row.

The pattern contains sizing recommendations for a young child, older child, and teen-adult. It is designed to be very tall, especially at the larger size, so you may want to adjust accordingly.

Finished sizes are approximately 7.5” high with a 17.5” circumference, 10.5” high with a 20” circumference, and 13.75” high with a 22.5” circumference.

Colorwork is charted, the other directions are fully written out.
