Combining natural and structural lines, the Hestercombe shawl evokes an English cottage garden in its construction and motifs. The shawl is worked in one piece with intarsia colorwork. It has a garter stitch border and a fun puzzle-like construction. Written instructions refer to each of the shawl’s lace motifs which are written out separately so that each section’s repeats can easily be seen and marked. The shawl is also fully charted.

A pattern sample (of the written portions) can be found here I highly recommend checking it out before purchasing. I love this pattern and think it is a delightful challenge, but it is not for everyone.
