Hettie is an asymmetrical triangular-shaped shawl worked sideways with increases along one side.
The pattern is very easy to customize and fun to knit, ideal for travel knitting.
I designed this shawl during a road trip, thinking of a practical accessory for the coming summer. Not a massive shawl, but essential for windy days and evenings at the seaside.
For my shawlette, I choose a pretty inelastic ethical yarn made from worn denim (BettaKnit Love My Jeans; 339 yards/310 meters per 100 grams). Extremely soft, light yet firm, perfect to protect my neck without sweating.
If you want to use a superwash wool or other elastic fibre, keep in mind that the shawl may stretch quite a lot during wet-blocking.
Size: small (medium, large).
Finished measurements: 49¼ (65½, 78 ¾) inches/125 (166, 200) cm wingspan; 34½ (45¾, 60¾) inches/88 (116, 154.5) cm along BO edge, excluding fringes.
