This is a great project to use up some of your yarn stash. I used Marvel 8 ply doubled for all of this. You can do each motif in a different colour if you want. So many variables. Just have fun with it and see what happens. You could also use thicker yarn if that is what you have. It doesn’t really matter. Your hook size will be determined by the yarn you are using, and again, it doesn’t really matter.

The thing that is important is that your hexagons and pentagons should be quite stiff, so that the ball will hold its shape. The textured finish of the hexagon I used helps with this.
