This pattern can be used for any size dog coat by adjusting yarn weight and hook size. For a small - medium size coat I use 8 ply yarn with a 3.5 mm hook. For a larger coat I use 12 ply yarn with a 5 mm hook. It just depends on the size of the dog you are making it for.

This is a great pattern for using up your yarn stash when making the hexagons. I use 1 ball of Marvel 8 ply for the joining of the hexagons.
