Hexatetraflex
Now also available in an ebook with two other patterns. The ebook has a full contents page and page numbers for easy navigation.
This pattern creates a form that consists of six tetrahedrons joined in a circle that can be flexed inwardly or outwardly forever.
There are printable diagrams to help with choosing your own colours and a photo-free version of the pattern plus a photo tutorial.
The directions are given for making it with DK yarn and a suitable hook but a slightly thicker or thinner yarn would work as well. As described the final object is about five inches (13cm) across.
As well as the yarn the shape needs to be stuffed. This can be done with toy stuffing or yarn ends.
The yarn quantity listed is the total for the whole thing.
For enterprising crocheters familiar with tapestry crochet there are some further ideas, including how the hexatetraflex in the two lower pictures on the left was made.
This pattern is one of three flexy patterns in an ebook.
The ebook has a full contents page and page numbers for easy navigation. (Cover in bottom photo)
