Hey Duggee by Owly Ooly

Hey Duggee

This pattern is available from etsy.com for £3.00.

This pattern makes a Duggee which stands at 26cm/10” tall.

Inspired by the Hey Duggee cartoon (loved by my daughter) and an inability to find a Duggee toy for Christmas, I set about making one myself!

Since then, I have been requested to make them for friends’ children, so decided to write up the pattern properly for others to enjoy.

A beginner could cope with this, with a little help from online tutorials on some of the stitches. An intermediate knitter would find it easy.

It’s knitted flat with 4mm needles and, alongside the yarn, you’ll also need various colours of felt for decoration:
Black for eyes
Dark and light brown/orange, yellow, light blue, red, dark and light purple for badges.
Toy stuffing
Threads in various colours
Dark red or purple embroidery thread for the mouth
Sewing and embroidery needles

Here is the list of the yarns I used:
Yarn A – James C. Brett Top Value DK – 8410 (Head/Paws/Tail)
Yarn B – Hayfield Bonus DK Sunflower 978 (Jacket)
Yarn C – Stylecraft Special DK Gold 1709 (Trousers)
Yarn D – James C. Brett Top Value DK 8454 (Scarf)
Yarn E – Stylecraft Special DK Spice 1711 (Muzzle)
Yarn F – King Cole Dollymix Surf 143 (Woggle)
Yarn G – Stylecraft Special DK Black 1002 (Nose)

For yarns A, B and C, single 100g skeins should be plenty to complete the project. Not much is needed of the other colours.

I’ve tried to pick colours as close to Duggee’s as I can!

I hope you have fun making him for your little ones :)
