Hibernus Mittens
Hibernus Mittens were designed to give a nod to Christmas but not so much that you couldn’t wear these mittens any time of year. I love to put red and green together in a subtle way.
All yarns are Knit Pick Palette 100% wool fingering weight
Celadon Heather (MC) 80 yds
Rainforest Heather 25 yds
Finnley Heather 51 yds
Asphalt Heather 46 yds
Lingonberry Heather 15 yds
This is a charted pattern. First you make a 2X2 ribbed cuff topped with a Latvian Braid. Then the mittens are constructed in the round using three charts: The main pattern/back of the hand, the palm, and the thumb/gusset. The palm and thumb are done in a checkerboard pattern that you can knit without following the chart once you get the pattern established.
