“Hibiscus”
jacquard cowl
by Woolly Hooligan designs

Cowl inspired by the flower hibiscus and this rich “Ruby” red by Fleece Artists. Ruby was the starting point for this design.

The colours are the stars here….
The ruby is luscious depth of magenta shade, adding texture and fluidity.
The blue “silhouette” by Manos del Uruguay is a perfect complement, breaking up the sea of red in most unexpected way.
Something special and flirtatiously red.

Yarn:
colour A : 200 yards of “Ruby” merino slim by Fleece Artists

Colour B: 100 yards in “Silhouette” Fino merino/silk mix by Manos Del Uruguay

Both yarns are in fingering category.

Needles: Size 4 (3.5 mm) US 16-inch circulars, 1 marker

Gauge: 29 st/34 rows in charted stranded colour work
(I don’t think its super crucial for a cowl, it may turn out a bit larger or a tiny bit smaller, either way it works)

Level of difficulty: intermediate (following fair isle/colour chart is necessary)

Finished measurements/fit: with ease, circumference 22 inches, height 11 inches.
