Hibiscus

Brighten up cold and dreary winter days with this pretty chunky lace beanie. Inspired by my daughter’s love of “pink tea” and named after the delicious Hibiscus tea this hat is bound to add a spring to your step during the dark days of winter.

A quick easy lace repeat worked in chunky yarn is pretty but still incredibly warm. Choose something bright in honour of “pink tea” or tone down your hat with a more neutral choice. Three sizes and an easily adjusted slouch level make this a very versatile hat pattern.

The tea: Hibiscus tea is an infusion made from the sepals of the rosella flower. Without sweetener it can be a touch tart with a cranberry like flavour, this tea is delicious served hot or cold and is drunk the world over with a wonderful array of names.
