Hidden Forest Shawl
This squishy soft shawl brings the best of both brioche and cables. Cable windows allow alternate color brioche designs to peak through, then the dominant color is switched as the cables travel across the fabric. This pattern is a great design to keep those synapses firing as techniques are combined in new and interesting ways. Despite the intricacy of the instructions this can become a rhythmic knit as you get in the flow of the regular cable crossings. I hope you enjoy knitting this as much as I enjoyed designing it.
Yarn:
Color A: 328 yds/300m sport weight yarn, shown in The Fibre Co. Arranmore light, in color Meara (300m/328yds in 100g, 80% wool, 10% silk, 10% cashmere).
Color B: 328 yds/300m sport weight yarn, shown in The Fibre Co. Arranmore light, in color Finian (300m/328yds in 100g, 80% wool, 10% silk, 10% cashmere).
Note: I used every inch of color A and had less than a yard left of color B, so check gauge carefully or choose a yarn with additional yardage.
Finished Measurements: 40”/ 102cm wingspan x 25”/ 64 cm depth after blocking.
