Hidden Treasures
Hidden Treasures are fingerless mitts knit top-down towards the wrist. The mitts have different colourwork panels forming a beautiful overall pattern. The edges are finished with neat garter stitch. The mitts feature a modified Indian gusset for the best fit. The instructions are written for magic loop, but you can work them with dpns if you wish.
Size:
1-2, approx. for palm circumference of (6.5-8)-(7.5-9)” / (17-20)-(19-22) cm.
Yarn:
Garthenor Organic Ystwyth Sock (100% wool, 200 m / 50 g) or other fingering weight yarn.
Shown in 1 Llanwenog (C1) and 2 Black Welsh Mountain (C2).
Yardage:
C1: 86-94 yrds / 79-86 meters.
C2: 105-117 yrds / 96-107 meters.
Needles:
2,5 mm (US 1 ½) and 2,75 mm (US2) - 32”/80 cm circular needle for magic loop (or dpns if you prefer). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the right gauge.
Gauge:
16 sts / 20 rounds = 2 x 2” / 5 x 5 cm of colourwork in the round (after blocking).
