With everyone jumping on board the brioche train, I decided to give it a proper shot myself. After much trial and error, I had a breakthrough with HIDDEN TWIST. Well placed increases and decreases and an easy to follow pattern repeat create an amazingly squishy and slouchy beanie. The project only uses two skeins of yarn, and you even have enough to make one for a young child as well. Stash dive and pull out your two favorite colors and create something you will never take off your head!

MATERIALS:
Two skeins of Baah Shasta (100% Superwash Merino. 200 yards).
• Color A – Rogue (110 yards used for adult version.)
• Color B – Tequila Lime (105 Yards used for adult version.)
US 6 16” circular needles and DPNs. (If you prefer using the Magic Loop technique, DPNs are not required.)
US 8 16” circular needles (Optional. This is for the cast on only.)
Two stitch markers.
Tapestry needle

GAUGE AND MEASUREMENTS:
10” in height (8” for child version). 22” in circumference (17” for child version).
About 14 sts and 24 rows every 4” in Brioche Stitch, blocked.

PATTERN NOTES: Read the pattern entirely before beginning to familiarize yourself with the project. Gauge is not entirely critical for this project, but brioche is naturally lofty and requires smaller needles than you think. If you haven’t knit in brioche stitch before, checking gauge and practicing the techniques in the abbreviations are recommended.
