High Elevation
After a recent trip to the mountains, I wanted to design a cowl inspired by the beautiful designs of Peruvian alpaca sweaters. It works up quickly using only the texture of knits and purls to give a nod to the style without the color work.
You’ll need:
Yarn: 2 skeins (460 yards) of Plucky Knitter Snug Worsted (shown in color Plié)
Needles : US5/3.75mm, US6/4mm, US7/4.5mm 24” circular needles
Notions: stitch marker for indicating beginning of round, tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
Gauge: 5 stitches/inch in stockinette stitch on US6/4mm needles.
Finished dimensions: This cowl is slighty tapered for a smaller top opening and larger bottom opening. Blocked cowl measures 25” circumference at top, 27” circumference at bottom, and is 17” high (deep).
