High Marsh pullover is named after a historic road that crosses the Tantramar Marsh at the top of the Bay of Fundy (Atlantic Canada). The experience of crossing this road in the height of summer is like none other - vast, encompassing and colourful. After passing through a covered bridge, one encounters fields of hay, tall grasses, and wild flowers. The road would not exist had the Acadians not dyked the land centuries ago.

This design distils elements of this evocative landscape. A nature-inspired lace motif dominates the horizon, surrounded by touches of texture and colour. Fiery orange captures the inherent energy of the place, which has stood up to the winds and tides, supporting natural and human activity since earliest times.

STYLE
The pullover features a low rounded neckline and eye-catching yoke, 3/4-length sleeves, and slightly fitted silhouette (optional) - a relaxed style that works for many occasions.

CONSTRUCTION
The pullover is worked bottom-up on circular needles and is seamless with the exception of Kitchener stitch grafting and two short corner seams at each underarm. The pattern contains a schematic, with finished measurements. Charts are provided for the eyelet rib and lace borders of the body, sleeves and yoke, along with written instructions that include details for customizing your fit.

SIZES
There are 6 sizes to choose from: XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL)
Finished chest measurements are: 85 (94, 103, 112, 122, 131) cm / 33 1/2 (37, 40 1/2, 44, 48, 51 1/2) ins.
The sample is worked in size S with a lightly fitted silhouette and 5 cm/2 in of positive ease.

MATERIALS

Yarn: I recommend using a sport- or fingering-weight yarn with good stitch definition that knits to the gauge. 100% mercerized cotton is ideal for summer.

The sample uses:
MC - Mille Fili, by Wolle Roedel (col 5973), 50 g balls (130 m/142 yds)
CC - Mama Mia Color, by Stahlsche Wolle - variegated turquoise/blue, 50 g balls (120 m/131 yds)

Amounts required:
MC - 6 (7, 8, 9, 10 11) balls = 780 (910, 1040, 1170, 1300, 1430) m / 853 ( 995, 1137, 1280, 1420, 1564) yds
CC - 1 ball = 120 m (131 yds)

Needles:
2 3/4 mm (US 2 1/2) circular needle (40 cm, 80 cm)
3 mm (US 3) circular needle (40 cm, 80 cm)
set of 4 or 5 double-pointed 2 3/4 and 3 mm (US 2 and US 2 1/2) needles (or magic loop)

tapestry needle to weave in ends
