High Tide Cable Tee
Early knitting lessons with my grandmother came complete with boxes of vintage knitting magazines. Maybe I swooned over one too many leaflets from the 1960s, but I credit them with my soft spot for mock turtlenecks. Significantly modernized, High Tide features some of what I loved about those vintage styles—the neckline, wide cable and half sleeves—but with a roomier fit for those who prefer a less form-fitting style. Perfect for getting started over a long weekend at home, the front cable is a breeze to track once you’ve gotten it established. You’ll find yourself free of the pattern once you pass the sleeve divide and can zip through the body in no time.
High Tide is knit seamlessly from top to bottom with positive ease. It’s a relatively mindless project with just enough visual interest to keep the process entertaining, without being fussy. The pattern is easy to memorize and—with the added benefit of half-sleeves— you’ll be finished in no time.
