This pattern uses a very simple variation of the single crochet, the single crochet cluster or sc2tog stitch, and is a great pattern for a beginner or anyone who likes chunky textured stitches. The yarn used is size 6 or super bulky and it works up very quickly. It’s great for quick gifts or craft sales.

The cowl can be worn partially open with one button done up, or for the deep freeze days, button it up all the way. Pair it with the Highland Chunky Toque and Mitts.

Materials:
Yarn: Bernat Softee Chunky (Super Bulky) #6, 3.5 oz. (100 g), 108 yds (99 m), 1 ball Gray Rose and 1 ball Taupe Grey.

Hook: 9.0 mm or size needed for gauge

Stitch markers, tape measure, scissors, yarn needle, 2 1.5” (38 mm) buttons
