I Love shadow knitting. This should come with a warning, once you try you just can’t stop. It is the feeling that you get when your have finished and you lay it out, then walk past it and the image appears then disappears, the fist time you have seen it properly. You think ‘did I just do that’…. And you certainly did.

For illusion knitting you need the skills of cast on, knit, purl, cast off, yes that’s it….

Cows always look cute, and Highland Cows… I need say no more.

The pattern name ‘There can be only one’, if you do not recognise it, it is the snatch line from Highlander… Highland Cow, well we thought it was good :slightly_smiling_face:

The design fills the space so well. I have mounted mine using a simple canvas, just do not stretch it too much. Could also be used for a throw

It will take about 1.5 balls of each colour of yarn (in 8ply) , but as always it depends on your tension. All you will basically need after that is your knitting needles, the correct size for your yarn, and maybe some very long movies….

I know that not everyone likes charts, and reading them on this scale is hard, especially when your trying to watch the TV. So I also include written instructions, which i personally find much easier to follow.
