Highland Cow
This is a knitting pattern for a furry Highland cow. Using sport weight yarn, the final cow measures approximately 10 inches tall.
The head and body are knitted in the round from the bottom up, the nose, ears, horns, arms, and legs are knitted separately and attached later. Lastly, you get to crochet the highland’s famous hair!
I used a sport weight yarn with size 3 needles, but you could use any weight yarn as long as you used size-appropriate needles. Just know that bigger yarn=bigger finished animal.
Materials Needed:
Circular needles or DPNs
Crochet hook
Yarn needle
Poly stuffing
Dried beans (I like to put one or two tablespoons in the butt to add some nice weight to the body)
optional safety eyes, if you don’t feel like embroidering eyes (I never feel like it)
