Highland Cow Description
Meet Hailey! Sweet highland cow Hailey can’t wait to be created. She is looking for one special boy or girl to give her a forever home! This lovey creates significant sentimental value to a baby shower gift due to its unique, handmade feature. You can gift this lovey separately or use it as an adorable addition to a gift basket. She is perfect for babies, toddlers and young children.

Pattern Specifications:
Your purchase of this digital crochet pattern will include instructions on the hexagon squares, blanket border, head, hooves, legs and a brief demonstration on how I sewed the eyes, nostrils and tufts of hair.

This pattern is written using American terminology.

The stuffie is worked in continuous rounds, but the blanket is not. Please read each section carefully before you begin!

Upon using the same yarn and hook size that are mentioned in the materials list, your resulting piece should have the following approximate measurements: the size of your stuffie should be approximately 5″ tall (horns included), 3.5″ from snout to back of the head and 7″ from outside of left hoof to outside of right hoof. The size of the blanket is 14″L x 14″ W. This is including two rows for the border. Each hexagon piece is 4 1/2″L x 4 1/2″W.

Skill Level:
These instructions are for an intermediate level crochet pattern with the assumption that you are already familiar with all of the crochet terms listed in the ‘abbreviations’ section. It has also been designed with the assumption that you have prior experience making crochet and amigurumi products. With that being said, I am more than happy to answer and assist with any questions!

Material Needed:

3.5mm crochet hook
Darning needle
Stitch markers
Poly-fil stuffing
Black crochet thread

Yarn Specifications:
Any #3 or #4 weight yarn will work. Acrylic and cotton work best for the stuffie, but using wool in the blanket is acceptable. This pattern has not been tested with polyester yarn, although it would most likely work up just fine with this fiber.

You may use any colors you would like, but keep in mind, I have coordinated the instructions based on the colors that I used.

I used Stylecraft Special DK in the colors listed below. You will need less than one skein (< 100 g) for each of the following colors:
Beige = parchment
Orange = copper
white = white
