Highland Cowl
Inspired by Outlander television show costume worn by Claire.
Finished measurements varies based on gauge and yarn weight. Finished garment should measure 40-50” circumference by 15-18” wide (height of finished cowl).
This pattern is worked flat on either size P or Q hook depending on desired texture. Adjust hook size and chained stitches to obtain desired gauge and cowl height. To ensure good fit on the finished garment, measure the unseamed garment around shoulders to center of chest of the wearing and make sure that number of rows will fit the wearer with a 1” seam allowance. Add rows to obtain desired circumference for finished garment. For smaller version, decrease chained stitches to reduce height and/or rows to create desired fit.
