I remember visiting my grandparent’s croft in the Scottish highlands. I would wake up and look through the small panes of glass in the window to see the greens and purples of the meadows, trees and heather swirling together in the morning mist. This was the inspiration for my Tunisian crochet Highland Croft Shawl; the mixing together of color created by the three-color Tunisian sections and the small window panes represented by the open meshwork.
Worked in five colors of sport weight yarn, this bottom-up shawl uses simple stitches to alternate between lace and solid fabric.
