The Highland Mittens are a knitted homage to the iconic highland cow, with each hand showing half of its charming face. When paired together, the full image reveals the cow’s shaggy hair, distinctive horns, and soulful expression.

These mittens are knit in the round using fingering weight yarn and two colors to bring the design to life. The folded cuff provides a warm, cozy fit. Sized for a women’s medium, and the size can be adjusted by changing needle size.

Yarn: We Are Knitters Finita yarn (100g = 437 yards {400 m}) or equivalent fingering weight yarn. You will need:
Main color (black): 53g or 229 yards (211 m)
Contrast color (beige): 22g or 96 yards (88 m).

This colorwork design is intended for experienced knitters as you will need to know how to manage long floats.

The colorwork design is charted.
