I chose the colors for this duo of shawl designs, The New Yorker, while watching a brief documentary on the illustrator Christoph Niemann. A whimsical abstract artist, his accomplishments include quite a number of cover illustrations for The New Yorker magazine. He says that his favorite colors are yellow and black, yellow being the perfect color for New York, which was the first city he moved to on his own. These two shawls give a nod to Mr. Niemann and his interesting depictions of dynamic city life.

Highline ~ the park on a vintage rail line
A sideways-knit arrow construction, this three-color design features a mosaic pattern in the center, with simple stripes along each side. Pattern is suitable for any yarn weight up to aran - be sure to adjust your yarn requirements when making substitutions. Also, please note that the mosaic section is worked only from charts.
