This started out as a personal quest to replace a lost old favourite dog-walking bag…and turned into the Highweek Bag - a handy little drawstring bag useful for many things, including dog-walking!

The bag measures 35cm high by 26cm wide if using Twilleys Freedom Echo DK. You can substitute most DK yarns and even different weight yarns, always remembering the finished bag will be a different size.

There are two outside pockets, knit in one piece and divided in two by duplicate stitching - photographic instructions included in the pattern.

The bag is knitted in the round with a provisional cast on at the bottom and drawstring tunnels at the top which can either be seamed closed or finished with a 3 needle bind-off.

There are instructions included on making an I-cord.

Yarn:

You will need two skeins of the main colour and one skein of the contrast colour, or three altogether if using one colour only.

Notions:

5mm (US ) circular needle (16” length) and same size straights (or just the circular needle and a stitch holder) plus an extra needle the same size for 3 needle bind-off.
5mm (US 8) dpns or circular needle for I-cord.
Tapestry needle for pulling I-cord through drawstring tunnel and weaving in ends.
Stitch markers (3).
