Hillside
Hillside is worked sideways with garter stitch and lace chevron. The two halves of the shawl are mirror images. The focal point is the beautiful diamond pattern that decorates the middle.
You start and end with two stitches, increasing to the halfway point and then decreasing on the other half. No bind-off needed!
YARN
Two skeins of The Fibre Co. Cumbria (90% wool, 10% mohair; 218 m / 238 yds per 100 g). Shown in colour Scafell Pike.
Or approximately 436 m / 476 yds of similar worsted weight yarn.
NEEDLES
Size 4.5 mm / US 7 needles or size to obtain pattern gauge
This shawl is worked flat, but I recommend using 60 – 80 cm / 24 – 32 inch circular needles to accommodate the growing number of stitches.
