HILLY HOOD has a roomy fit and is worked from the top down in broken rib. First a square is worked for the top of the hood. Then stitches are picked up and knitted along the sides of the square and the sides are worked down from here, while increases and decreases are worked across the back of the hood. The stitches are joined in the round under the chin and the neck is worked in the round until the back stitches are bound off using the Italian bind off technique. The front stitches are then worked back and forth until these are also bound off using the Italian bind off technique. At the end stitches are picked up around the face opening and a rib edge is worked.
