This shawl is knit side-to-side, all in one piece. It is not well suited for highly variegated or self striping yarns.

This pattern is based on the old HILTON LACE motif and written to be knit by weight, meaning that the finished size will depend on the amount of yarn you start with; making it perfect for those single skeins of lovely yarn you just HAD to buy!

CONSTRUCTION NOTE:

The charts nor the written instructions show the number of stitches between the markers. The stitches between the markers will increase (per pattern) until the mid point then they will decrease (per pattern). This increasing and decreasing between the markers is what produces the shape of the shawl.
