The Mountain Swoncho is a tribute to my second home- the Himalaya mountains. I have spent some years in this range, and had to take a few years off down in the plains. This swoncho is my first come-back design, inspired by the firm presence of these incredible mountains.

The swoncho (sweater- poncho) is designed to be worn with 20-35cm (6-14’’) of positive ease.
The pattern offers two size options, for the larger size the brioche pattern had to be altered a bit for it to be suitable.
It is recommended to adjust the sleeve lengths to your actual size and preference, making the last decrease before the Two color Brioche hem.

The swoncho is worked in one piece from the neck down.
First the neck is worked knitted flat, then it joins with an overlapping front part to be worked in the round.
While the front and back are worked in an evolving Two Color Brioche pattern, the shoulders and sleeves are worked in Broken Seed Stitch.
