In Canada, we are blessed with a LOT of hinterland: wilderness and abundant ecosystems boasting a diverse level of flora, fish and fauna amid tundra, rainforests, estuaries, ocean coasts and grasslands.

The Hinterland Socks celebrate the wild spaces of Canada.

YARN one skein Oceanwind Knits Sock, 80% superwash merino wool / 20% nylon, 115g (4oz) / 420yds (384m) yds; or, 300 (smallest size)-400 (largest size) yds of fingering weight wool.

NEEDLES 2.25 mm (US1) circular needles (min. 60 cm/24” for magic-loop-style knitting) or DPNs to suit your preferred method of knitting in the round

OTHER stitch-markers, tapestry needle for weaving ends

GAUGE 8 sts & 12 rows per 1-inch square in stockinette, blocked

The O, Canada pattern collection will feature 4 designs in fingering weight yarns. Patterns will be available beginning in March 2017, and will be released throughout 2017, in March, June, September and December. In this collection will be a pair of socks, a pair of fingerless mitts, a cowl and a small shawl.
