174 yards of crochet thread for each hat plus small amount of metallic gold thread. Satin ribbon, pink for picture hat and blue for top hat.

Top Hat consists of 19 rows with crab stitch on last round. Picture Hat consists of 18 rows including 1 row single crochet border. Rows 9 -17 includes 8 motifs.

Soak each completed piece in sugar “starch” or in a concentrated starch solution and stretch over a suitable from to allow to dry. When each hat is thoroughly dry, trim it with ribbons.

Stitches include single crochet stitches, slip stitches, double crochet stitches, front/back post stitches and crab stitches.
