DESCRIPTION
Who needs more men’s sweaters? We all do. This classic crewneck was inspired by my husband who loves stockinette as much as I do. This sweater has 4-6 inches of positive ease and is meant to have a tailored fit at the shoulders and arms. Made with a double brim and embroidered X detail at the neckline, this pullover is great for a fall day (or winter in my husband’s case, since he is always hot). I hope you love this sweater as much as Todd and I do.
Knit in the round, this seamless sweater is knit in a bottom-up style. You will cast on for the bottom hem, work up to the under arms and then split for the front and back panels. The collar is then shaped in the front. Once finished, you will work the back panel and finish with a seamless 3 needle bind-off. The collar is then picked up and worked in a rib stitch, and then seamed down to create a double brim effect. Next, the arms are picked up and worked in the round; then the last ‘X’ detail is applied with an embroidery technique called the “chain stitch”.
This pattern is written in 9 sizes – XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL). It is suggested that you highlight your size, so you know which stitch count to follow. The model pictured is wearing size M, and is 5’10 and has a chest circumference of 40” in circumference, for reference.
