Hissy Fitt Fingerless Snake Mitts
Intermediate: due to the use of cables. This pattern is written in the round for using the magic loop technique.
There are two separate sizes written, one for adult small/medium and one for a large. Either of these two may be knitted on a larger needle to make them a little bigger if necessary. The small/medium size on the smaller needles fits my hand (with a very small amount of positive ease) and my hand’s measurements are: hand (7 1/8”) , thumb (2 1/2”), wrist (6”), wider section of arm (7 1/2”). The large size gives just shy of one inch of extra room if you are using the same gauge as the pattern.
One pair of mitts, using the longer variation (you can chose to make longer or shorter mitts ) used less than one skein of Caron Simply Soft-any similar yarn may be used though, when in doubt how much yarn to get, always get a little more just in case. You will also need a small amount of yarn to embroider the tongue and the eyes.
Written into the pattern are two stitches that will help you to place your eyes-this is a nice feature, because placement of eyes is paramount if you want a realistic looking animal-so no having to worry if your eyes are placed correctly! phew!
This pattern has been tested for errors by my wonderful and detail oriented testers. I thank them profusely for their hard work and diligence!
