Send your scholar to school in style to “Hit the Bricks” with this soft, squishy scarf. Done in garter stitch, it features slipped stitches, which form the “morter” for the “bricks.”

This pattern is super easy and is a great beginner project, or a fast knit for a more experienced knitter.

I used about 250 yards for the main color (dark blue) and from 25 yards (yellow) to 100 yards (both the light blue and the grey) in the example scarf.

Stitches you’ll need to know:
k - knit
p - purl
sl - slip stitch purlwise

Really. That’s it! I promise! :)
