Hitchin' a Ride
This is a crochet interpretation of the very popular knit Hitchhicker scarf/shawlette. It is asymmetrical , worked from one side to the other. The stepped edge is forms as the item is crocheted.
Uses only single crochet and chain stitch. Easy enough for a beginner, but would be a great travel/watching tv project for and experienced crocheter.
Any size yarn/hook combination can be used. This will look best if the hook is “large” for the yarn, ie: lace/fingering yarn and H/I/J hook; worsted/aran yarn with a 7.5 mm or larger. The green striped shawl shows this in worsted weight yarn.
