Hobnail Coasters
Jesie Ostermiller
Shown at the bottom right, the Hobnail Coasters were inspired by vintage hobnail milk-glass pieces replete with beautiful bobble-like textures. They are constructed using the same math you would use for a pi shawl and are worked in the round from the center out. The outer edge features first a row of small bobbles and then a beautiful staggered picot bind-off, giving the impression of the hobnail texture while still offering a flat surface to set your mug on.
