Hoftevarmer is a Danish word for ‘hip warmer’.

Hip warmer is designed to provide warmth when working while seated in a cool environment. The hip warmer is quick to put on and take off, but if you need to be able to walk around with the hip warmer, an I-cord can be fitted in each of the upper corners, which can be used to tie the hip warmer firmly around the waist or the hips.

The hip warmer is worked in one piece from the bottom edge up – finished with a garter stitch edge worked in the round.

The pattern includes directions for knitting 7 different sizes 115x45; 130x50; 145x50; 160x55; 175x55; 190x60 and 205x60 centimeters - measured after blocking.

The pattern is written for a knitter who is able to follow written instructions as well as follow a lace chart and work increase and decrease. (Direction is a combination of chart and written text).

This pattern calls for a yarn with a gauge of 20 stitches per 10 centimeters, i.e. a yardage of approximately 120 meters per 50 grams. Pictured in 100% merino woll.

Materials: yarn, circular knitting needle and yarn needle for weaving in ends.
