Hold Me, Frill Me Coffee Sleeve

I designed this pattern to demonstrate the “Modified Astrakhan stitch” for the NYC Crochet Guild. I call it the modified Astrakhan stitch because it normally uses double crochet. This version of the stitch uses single crochet which gives the fabric more density. Apart from a coffee sleeve, you could use it to trim a hat or gloves for a fake fur effect.
Errata: Row 8 should read sc in the FLO (not BLO) for 8 st (not 9). Row 9 should read Repeat Row3 (not 4). Thanks to Myrian for helping me with the testing and correction of this pattern. Apologies to everyone that downloaded this with the errors. Corrections have now been made to the original document and posted accordingly.
