Holey Batwing! - A generously sized modified triangle shape wrap with batwing edges. Features mostly garter stitch with an eyelet lace section. Knit on large needles with bulky and lace weight yarns held together.

I love Filatura Di Crosa Superior yarn – it’s my “go-to” substitute for Rowan Kidsilk Haze, Shibui Silk Cloud, or Alchemy Haiku, since I’m very sensitive to mohair. Superior yarn has a beautiful halo, is very easy to carry along with another yarn, and who doesn’t just love cashmere? I paired Superior with Malabrigo Mecha – another fabulous single ply velvety yarn. Together they create a wonderfully soft, squishy, cuddly fabric – perfect for a big, luscious wrap.

I still hadn’t come up with a name for the wrap when I finished knitting it. As I pinned it out for blocking, the wrap took up nearly two-thirds of the width of my office floor. I thought – “Holy cannoli Batman, this thing is huge!” This pattern is easily adjustable for a smaller garment (reduce the number of stitches) and/or a lighter weight yarn (think Malabrigo Worsted or Madelinetosh Vintage). Choose your needle size accordingly.
