This scarf uses garter stitch only. The decorative holes are made by binding off and casting on stitches.
The scarf is designed to use one skein of Kauni. However, if you want to add width or length this can easily be done, and it is described in the pattern. If you do decide to make the scarf larger make sure to have enough yarn.

Gauge when knitting garter stitch is 23 sts = 10cm.
Final gauge, when fully blocked is 26 sts = 10cm.
