So, I was thinking about the Christmas holidays and was inspired to design this fun candy cane striped beret crochet pattern. The circular design looks intricate, but works up quickly and easily into a finished beret that is warm and comfortable and will fit most women and teens. The red and white color combination will make your holidays bright and cheery, or pick any two of your favorite colors to create a beret to complement your winter wardrobe.

Skill Level: I would rate this pattern as EASY +. The beret is worked in rounds, with easy color changes and shaping. Pattern stitches and special techniques are fully detailed.

Materials: You will need two colors of worsted weight yarn. The beret will use approximately 150 yards (138 m) for the main color, and approximately 55 yards (51 m) for the contrasting color. The featured yarn is a lambs wool blend with a gauge of 13.2 sc x 16 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) square. You will also need a size J-10 (6.0 mm) crochet hook, a tapestry needle for working in ends, and a safety pin or purchased stitch marker for tracking the beginning of rounds.
