This elf hat is designed to be useful as well as merry for the holidays. Although it is written in suggested colors, it can be worked in any color variation desired. Size is designed to fit most adults, but it can be adjusted slightly with smaller or larger needles. The body of the hat is written with size 9 needles and the zigzag top is size 8 needles. A needles size too large will leave holes in the corners of the stitch direction changes. Adjust accordingly to get the gauge you need. Body of the hat is worked in the round, while the top is done on straight needles for easier shaping.
