Early in the morning I walk along the shore. Waves playing around my feet. The tides makes waves in the sand, reflections in the water smoothly passes into the blues of the sky. Soft pastels color the sky to mark the sunrise.
These memories made this organic shaped shawl, almost like a wave. Which colors mark your holiday memories?

While knitting I relive this wonderful time.

It is a versatile wearable shawl, which is also a perfect holiday knit. Nice, relaxing , mindless.

Size: from tip to tip: 2.40 m, deepest point 45 cm.

You’ll need:
2 x 1 skein DK weight yarn (1x color A, 1 x color B), for example (handdyed) DK merino or DK weight cotton, appr.220 m per skein of 100g. (total appr. 400 m).
10-15 grams of Kidsilk, (color C) of appr. 220 m per 25 gram, The kidsilk is used yarn held double in this pattern.

Knitting needles size 5 mm. Stitchmarkers.
The shawl is knitted back- and forth.( I’ve used circulars for the amount of stitches).

In the sampleknit I’ve used the colors of a sandy beach (color A) and the blue color of the sea and sky (color B) of a beautifull handdyed merino. Color C (kidsilk) represents the pinky/orange shades of the sunrise. Feel free to use the colors that mark your own holiday memories, can’t wait to see yours!

’s Ochtends vroeg loop ik langs het strand. Golven spelen rond mijn voeten. Het wegtrekkende water maakt golven in het zand, weerspiegelingen in het water overgaand in de blauwe lucht met flarden kleur van de zonsopkomst.
Deze herinneringen maakten deze organisch gevormde sjaal, bijna als een golf.
Welke kleuren vormen jouw vakantie herinnering?
Tijdens het breien herbeleef ik deze heerlijke tijd.
Het is een veelzijdig te dragen sjaal die overigens ook een perfect vakantie-breisel is. Lekker rustgevend breien, niet teveel nadenken.

Benodigdheden:
2 strengen DK dikte wol of katoen, bijvoorbeeld handgeverfde DK merino, ca. 220 m per streng.
1 streng Kidsilk (evt. handgeverfd) 400 m per 50 gram, je gebruikt hiervan ca. 10 a 15 gram. Let op: kidsilk verwerken met DUBBELE draad.

De sjaal wordt heen-en-weer gebreid op een rondbreinaald.
Bij mij is kleur A de kleur van het zand en kleur B de kleur van water en de lucht, kleur C (kidsilk) de kleur van de zonsopkomst.

MAAT SJAAL: gemeten van punt tot punt ca. 2.40 meter, diepste punt 45 cm.
